Itinerary
Day 1:
Depart Alice Springs at 6.30 am on the Desert Wanderer coach Travel to Jim's Place where the "Singing Dingo" may perform and Mt Ebenezer. On to Ayers Rock Resort. Travel into the National Park and visit the Cultural Centre, tour the base and/or climb Uluru, visit Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) and photograph the sunset on Uluru as you sip sparkling wine/juice and enjoy an evening buffet meal. After sunset you will be dropped off at Outback Pioneer Resort. Join complimentary Ayers Rock Resort shuttle bus to transfer you to other specific accommodation.
Day 2:
Depart your Ayers Rock Resort accommodation at 5 am. You will drive through sandhill country towards Kings Canyon, stopping for breakfast at Kings Creek Station (own expense) along the way. Continue on to Watarrka National Park where you can make the rocky climb with your guide to the rim of Kings Canyon to be rewarded with marvellous views**. The climb may take up to 3 hours and is for those with a good level of fitness. Alternatively, you may wish to explore the boulder-strewn canyon floor, an easier walk. After lunch (own expense) - free time at the Resort before continuing your journey to Alice Springs (arrival 6.30 pm approx).
