Itinerary
Day 1:
Depart Alice Springs at 6.30 am on the Desert Wanderer coach. Travel to Jim's Place where the "Singing Dingo" may perform. Late morning tea as you view Mount Conner. On to Ayers Rock Resort. Travel into the National Park and visit the Cultural Centre, tour the base and/or climb Uluru, visit Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) and photograph the sunset on Uluru as you sip sparkling wine/juice and enjoy an evening buffet meal. After sunset you will be dropped off at Outback Pioneer Resort. Accommodation: hotel, budget lodge or tent.
Day 2:
Today is an exclusive on this type of 3-day tour - you have a completely free day. The choice is yours to return to the National Park for sunrise or for additional sightseeing and exploring. Choose from a fixed wing or helicopter flight, a camel or Harley ride, an Aboriginal cultural tour. the day is yours from sunrise to sunset! We strongly recommend that you pre-book any optional touring. All costs at passenger's expense. Accommodation: hotel, budget lodge or tent.
Day 3:
4.00 am (Oct to Mar): Outside your overnight accommodation join the Kings Canyon Coach for your tour to Kings Canyon and on to Alice Springs. drive through sandhill country towards Kings Canyon, stopping for breakfast at Kings Creek Station (own expense) along the way. Continue on to Watarrka National Park where you can make the rocky climb with your guide to the rim of Kings Canyon to be rewarded with marvellous views**. The climb may take up to 3 hours and is for those with a good level of fitness. Alternatively, you may wish to explore the boulder-strewn canyon floor, an easier walk. After lunch (own expense), free time before continuing your journey to Alice Springs (arrival 6.30 pm approx).
